EducationBuilding on a tradition of outstanding informatics education and research at Missouri, the doctoral program is a joint program of the various departments of School of Medicine, College of Engineering, and the Bond Life Sciences Center who make up the University of Missouri Informatics Institute (MUII). The Institute currently offers concentrations in health informatics and bioinformatics. Each emphasis area stresses the skill sets and research appropriate to the subfield within the broad area of informatics. |
A core curriculum provides all students with a foundation of knowledge and tools in computation, genomics, statistics and health systems, after which they complete further coursework in their chosen emphasis area. The integrated program assures broad exposure to the field and fosters new insights and innovate research concepts.
